Pricing of a piece can vary based on the canvas type and size. There is no standard price for a creation because there are size and canvas variations that contribute to pricing.
Gallery wrapped canvases require no frame. These typically sit one and a half inches from a wall. All of the sides are a continuation of artwork, color and the picture. These are the top tier of canvases.
Studio canvases can be framed or mounted as is. All edges are a continuation of the artwork, colors and picture. These typically sit a half inch or less from a wall. These are a standard canvas.
Shaped canvases are typically studio canvases as a shape. Circles, hearts, triangles, hexagons.
Wood as a canvas is an option. All will be Gesso coated and sanded before painted on. These do make for a sturdy piece. Always consider the weight of wood if mounting to a wall is the goal.
Pricing for a piece can vary based on the finish you would like to have. This is known as the varnish. A varnished piece is a long lasting piece.
Resin as a varnish is the most durable and color enhancing finish you could ask for. It creates a glass like gloss finish and shine. It's smooth and feels like you coated your piece in acrylic plastic. Due to these qualities this is the top tier of canvas varnishing.
Gamvar Gloss keeps the fabric integrity of the canvas whilst giving an amazing sheen. This is typically the most popular finish/varnish due to the fact that it showcases the luster of the canvas texture and is very thin.
Gloss Glaze is a semi thick varnish option. They typically come as a standard gloss or triple thick. These will typically hide the canvas texture whilst offering a smooth shiny finish. They dry almost like a plastic silicon coating.
Spray varnish can come in matte, semi gloss or gloss. These keep the integrity of the canvas texture and provide three gloss levels.
All artwork created will be varnished to help ensure the life of the artwork and added protection from water, minor abrasions and UV rays which can cause discoloring.
